V-Card: Jennifer M. Kurtz
Ms. Kurtz has handled a wide array of civil litigation matters, including, but not limited to, collections, breach of contract, real estate, consumer fraud, and landlord/tenant. She began her career as a litigation attorney with one of the world’s largest law firms, working on government investigations, white collar defense and construction litigation.
Ms. Kurtz has extensive experience in debtor-creditor matters, representing individuals in Chapter 13 and Chapter 7 bankruptcy cases. She also has a specialty in representing clients in the United States District Court under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, combatting unfair and abusive debt collection practices.
In addition to working with clients directly, as a member of the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys, Ms. Kurtz has met with members of Congress, lobbying for legislation to provide greater fairness and relief to consumers struggling with debt.
Ms. Kurtz is a highly experienced appellate attorney and for nearly a decade as Designated Counsel for the Office of the Public Defender, Office of Parental Representation, has represented parents in the Appellate Division, appealing judgments obtained by the Division of Child Protection and Permanency.
She is also experienced in estate planning and transactional matters, including but not limited to, employment and business agreements and real estate matters.
